Royal Canadian Legion, Trafalgar / Pro Patria Branch #292

Victoria Hospice was presented with a cheque for $500 at the Legion on Friday, May 7.  The Trafalgar / Pro Patria Branch members raise their funds through various draws and raffles throughout the year.  Victoria Hospice has been gratefully receiving funds from the Trafalgar/Pro Patria branch since 1993.

McCall’s newest office  -  Westshore Funeral & Cremation Service (located at Sooke and Jacklin Roads) hosted an open house on Saturday, April 24, 2010. $500 in donations were accepted for Victoria Hospice.

Thank you for making the BMO Swimathon for Victoria Hospice a resounding success. The 24th Annual Swimathon on Saturday May 9th was a wonderful event with many return teams and several new ones. Participants and supporters of all ages joined us in support for the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation. While the numbers are still being tallied we are thrilled to report that your efforts have helped raise $230,000 this year. We recognize that the website goal for the event is currently not accurate. We will formally report on the final figure when the counting is complete. The current figure online is a tally of the online activity that has taken place through the website.

This is one of our highest goals ever achieved and you helped make it happen. We applaud each and every participant. Please convey our sincere appreciation to your supporters and invite them to share in this significant accomplishment. Our congratulations to each of the teams and their team members.

On behalf of our medical staff, our patients and our families in care, and on behalf of the Greater Victoria Community as a whole, thank you for your generosity and your foresight. Your gift of time, effort, and contributions are truly valued. This year, in particular, is a challenge for our organization alongside everyone in our community, and we appreciate your hard work to make this an outstanding event.

Funds raised will go directly to our core programs providing bedside care and comfort to our patients and families. Your effort are directly and positively impacting individuals and families right here in Greater Victoria.

Team photos are being logged and uploaded and will be available 1 June directly via the web. We invite you to go online anytime after 1 June and view the photos at your leisure.
